Welcome To The Billy-Howard Experience

The Billy-Howard Experience is alive!! We are a "Band of 2". After playing music together for years we have alas reached the inevitable conclusion that Billy and Howard are the only two people on the face of the earth that can tolerate each other's mania! Trust me when I tell you that this is a GOOD THING. A band of two can clearly be mightier than the band of many. The end result is that when you come to hear us play our music you will have a good time; absolutely no doubt about it.

So lets start by introducing ourselves. Starting alphabetically as well as showing respect for my elders, there is Billy, whose real name is Billy Henderson. He is often called Billy Boy, Wild Bill or Wild Willy. He was raised in a distant galaxy as the son of the first space scientist sharecroppers. He continues to research the possibilities and challenges of weightless cotton picking. Because of the obvious limitations of outer space sharecropping, he also elected to learn to play the guitar, mandolin, dobro and banjo during the past 50 years.
His mamma also said he was a heck of a singer.

Then, by the process of elimination, there is Howard. His real name is Howard Garrett Keen. Billy often refers to him as "Howie Baby". Howard was raised as the son of circus performers where he became known as elephant boy. In his performances, he was required to place his head under an elephant's foot. If the elephant didn't squash his head, it was considered a successful show and mamma and daddy were proud of their boy. Between performances, he ardently practiced his skills on the flute, guitar and mandolin. He figured music might provide a surer future than the elephant gig.

In addition to performing music of many other artists, Billy and Howard have written and performed a plethora (a lot of) songs based on their unique life experiences.
